How Come Her Schoolwork is Better ?

Her kindie will return to us the books that they have studied for each term for parents to know their kids progress (or evidence of what they have learned.. hehehe)

I do have lots of other workbooks for Amber at home. She always asks for books to 'chor koong ker' at the childminders or sometimes when I'm busy, she'll find some stuff to do in her study room.

I've asked her to brush up on her numbers, she needs to know digits to follow up on her mental arithmetic class. When I checked her work, I had a little shock :

This is what she did in school, aligned, follow the dot writing.

and this is what she does when left alone to complete her activity books :

conteng ! conteng ! conteng !

Amber ! oh Amber ! Will you only listen to teacher and not Mama ?

I really should spend more time with her to do 'activity books' but .. but...

I'm just too lazy and have too much other stuff to do !

Parents Teacher Meeting - Term 2

The kindie had a parents teacher meeting last Saturday. I came to know that it's a term thingy and parents will meet teacher end of each term, 4 terms in total. Not bad eh.. I don't remember having my parents meet my kindie teacher during my time.

I am excited and kept reminding Amber that we'll be meeting her teacher and teacher will report all of her behaviour, good and bad to us, so be good !

Last term, we had a lot to hear of Amber from the principal and teacher. She refused to co-operate and sit down and was sent to the principals's room, many times :(
The principal, Teacher Jo, a very nice but firm lady, can handle Amber better than her own class teacher, so on difficult situations, she's sent to THE ROOM, instead of holding the class back.

Her class teacher, Teacher Mila is not around for the meeting. She's from Uzbekistan and went back for a months holiday and was supposed to report for work in July but no news of her. Teacher Jo told us she may be stuck and not be able to get back so soon, due to some unrest going on there. I pray and wish her family is fine and be back soon. Amber miss her very much.

This is what Teacher Jo, the principal and replacement teacher, had to say about Amber :

~ She likes to 'manja' Teacher Mila and insists that Teacher Mila seats next to her all the time. Teacher Mila, just to get the class going, always gives in to Amber. In her absence, Amber has no one to 'manja' and she's behaving well, paying attention and following instructions. (... I only know Teacher Mila is very firm and quite fierce, I didn't know Amber yearns for her attention)

~ Amber is always complaining of 'tired'. I'm very tired.. I'm so tired.. (...I admit, partly our fault for not getting her to sleep earlier)

~ Amber colors very well and always gets prize for coloring (... and I never knew that)

~ Amber learned syllables and sukukata, she can slowly read 3 alphabet words by recognizing the sound of each alphabets (... I never knew that too)

Teacher Jo asked her to read for us :

Overall, she's progressing fine in school and I can't wait for her to read soon.

I've gotta thank Patsy for the cd, A is the sound of ahhh... B is the sound of behh. Can't wait for her to read and indulge in books ;)

Getting to the root of things

We've been battling with Amber's eczema since birth. Poor Amber, as a baby, she didn't scratch much or fuss a lot when she has a full blown bout of eczema attack.

Now, she scratches a lot esp around the eye area. I'm really concerned that the 'itchiness' is affecting her development. Last week, during our parents-teacher meeting, I was told she can't sit still and concentrate during class and. Once she scratched her backside so hard, the other kids stared and laughed at her... and to make matters worst... few kids followed and did the same. I felt so sorry for my little girl.

I was even told by some 'smart alec' friends and relatives that I should get her checked by a doctor for she shows signs of having ADHD... and this is so unfair.. to pass judgement on my daughter when they hardly know her or spend time getting to know her. Do you think it's fair to label a child as having 'ADHD' by just a short observation ? BAH !!! these people really annoys me, they should just put their foot in the mouth !

I've tried numerous creams and lotions to control her eczema and we always have to rely on cortisteroids. I've also eliminated seafood from her diet and hardly gives her eggs. She's been on soy milk and I've seen some improvements but I'm still not happy with it.

None of her paeds recommends a blood allergy test done. In fact, most of them tells me, there's nothing much I can do. I did talk to someone from the blood test department at a local private hospital and she too tells me it's very difficult to pinpoint exactly what she's allergic too and furthermore it's hard and painful to draw 3-5cc of blood from a toddler.

Well, this weekend we are going see a highly recommended doctor who may give us an answer to her cause of allergy without testing her blood. Hubs and I are very excited and hope we can get an answer and solution from the doctor. Wish Amber luck !

Yesterday Evening

First of all, I'd like to say a big thank you for all blogger friends had concerns over Amber's diet and allergy. We are going slow and trying to determine the cause of allergy and meantime she's off milk.
Like it or not, she has to take solid food (rice, meat, vege and soup).

I thought putting her off milk would increase her appetite. Not so, and maybe not yet. I checked with the childminder yesterday, she's still slow and reluctant to finish her dinner. I'll give it more time. On the upside, she's been a good girl when the childminder didn't her any pre afternoon nap milkie. She even told Boon Kor Kor : doctor say I cannot take milk, make me itchy ah.

We are vigilant to feed her more water and liquids instead. She doesn't like taking water and I made some cordial Froots Vit C drink for her to bring to school. I packed a Vitagen along with some cookies for her. She hates any cordial drinks but I made it sweeter this time. I don't mind a little sugary drink for school, I think she needs the energy. She finished the drink and likes it very much. Now I know why she hates Ribena and others, maybe it's because I didn't' make them sweet enough :(

Last night, we had some quiet time together. Hubs was away at work and both of us cuddled, read books, played etc, I was trying to get her mind off milk. We were watching Oprah Winfrey show. Interestingly, the episode was about Kirstie Alley's weight loss and gain. One of the issues, a lady, had lost weight successfully. Amber saw her in bikini and asked me : Mummy, she wear bikini, can see guitar string like Amber (our terminology for skinny minny girls with ribs showing), not nice hor ??

Ya. not nice, so skinny not nice (actually, she had the perfect body!!), can see and feel guitar string not nice (slap myself on the face). Must be like the aunty (Oprah and Kirstie) and Mama, then nice.

No lar, you not nice, a little bit fat.

Where ?

Neh !! poke poke my tummy and spare tyres ! A little bit fat here

**slap head** I know what I'm telling her is wrong but as a kid, she should not have the great idea of having a bikini body right ?

Then later part of the show, Oprah interview Michael Hebranko, the world's best dieter who lost more than 3000lbs in his lifetime. Read about his story here and here. Very sad life he has.

Amber stared at the tv in amazement and a man this size and then told me :

Mummy, I don't want to be fat like that uncle......

LOL !! She must be so traumatized by a person that size when I tell her she needs to eat more.

Anyway, when it's almost bedtime, I manage to get her to drink a whole tumbler of water and she had 2 anzac cookies and went to bed, forgetting all about her milk!

On a sidenote, I bought 2 tins of Scottish Highland Oat Milk from a stall near my office. I hope this can be a solution to her allergies and satisfy her milk cravings and I better pray hard she is not allergic to oats milk too !

Contradicting and Worries

Feeling lousy over the weekend. It all started from :

Friday, we left for hubs hometown. She slept in the car, not having her milkie. I've already planner for her not to take any milk, other words, starve her from 2pm - 8pm and then let her have a proper meal with us, and that night, we had noodles. First spoon, ok, chew and swallow. Second spoon, problem brewing, her temper flaring, asking for soup instead, this and that, anything but the noodles.

Then the drama of " i don't want to eat ", 'not nice', 'I pau-pau already' ensued. She cried, we yelled, more so being fuelled by frustration of watching her cousin sister gleefully walloping a bowl of noodle, she, a thriving and happy kid whereas ours, a miserably skinny and no-appetite kid.

More drama and started scratching her eyes till swollen. I saw a layer of white gelatinuos stuff on her lids, wrapping up her eyeballs. Trouble ! Quickly sent her to clinic opposite home for some meds before it closes. Doc took a look at her, sniffing, food in the mouth (yes, still !) and all and said her problem was not the eyes but irritation from her nose (ENT, all related, one itch, the rest flares up soon). Nothing much he can do, but suggested us to try nasal spray instead and he REFUSED to presribe any until we treat the eye first (talk about principals, I'm sure he takes his oath seriously). So, we were sent home with some eye drops and he suggested to see another doctor the following morning who may have more sophisticated eye drops for Amber as he saw beneath the white gelatinuos stuff, there's another pocket of yellow gelatinuos stuff. May not be good news he said. He also asked if Amber was always restless and can't sit still (I thought he had sixth sense pulak !) and according to him, kids with allergy, esp from the nose, will have continuos cough, lack of concentration and will itch all over. Heavens.. finally someone understood Amber's condition. I have so many people telling me how 'boh-tiam' my kid is. Heartbreaking i tell you, she is as she is and I can't be yelling at her to keep still, sit still and SHUDDUP !! right ? or not ?

So, following morning, her eye was much better, only a tinge of swolleness. We went to see the other doctor as recommended. Told him the whole epi of the eye and allergy and such. I also told doctor I've put Amber off cows milk for some time. She's solely on Isomil and Pediasure, mixed with a little Milo.

He explained to us a talk he attended recently on CMPA (cow's milk protein allergy) and apparently, Isomil does not solve CMPA. 60% who has CMPA will also be allergic to soy milk!!!! Big news to me. I did some searching this morning at babycenter and it's true.

So, how can we treat Amber ?

He advised to put her off milk in the meantime and if she doesn't want to eat adult food (rice, noodles, pasta, soup), starve her. Then he pointed the finger at me and hubs, we are the main culprit for Amber refusing to eat proper meals. We give her too many choices and substitutes. From that point onwards, we took a challenge to put her off milk and place her on healthy balanced normal meals. No food, no milk, go hungry till she decides she needs to eat after all.
She heard all of our conversation and not liking what the doctor said, she wanted to leave the room

I tell you, that was the hardest thing to do. My little Amber is a milk baby, there's nothing she relish more than a comforting bottle of milkie (proper Avent bottle with teats and all) !

Then came lunch, another drama, with hardly anything for breakfast, a small cup of milo and a few strands of noodle, lunch was just a spoon or two of rice and some soup.

She requested for milk.. Mummy.. can I have milk please ??? why cannot ? doctor say can drink one time ah...

Those cries from her really hurt. But, we were adamant..

Dinner came, a full course dinner to celebrate FIL's bday.. she took only 2 small bites of yam, 2 inch of cod fish cubes and hardly a longevity bun. Throughout dinner, we kept telling her.. eat ! eat ! no milk for you tonight ! eat more... *sigh*

She cried for milk again, in the car, on the way home. I fed her with water. As a mom, I am
worried she gets dehydrated. Oh.. apart from food, she does not like much of water too !

Following day, we shared a big pau for breakfast. She did not cry for milk as much as before but kept asking 'why not milk ? doctor say I can have one time everyday..please ?

Lunch was an egg, with soya sauce. She didn't want any fuchok-yeemai MIL cooked. She hardly had any hazelnut cheesecake.. so I gave her a bowl of watercress soup, forcing down on her angrily. I was angry coz she came up with all sorts of excuses not to eat and tells me she wants a bowl of soup. When soup came, she didn't want.. who wouldn't be angry ?

Dinner on Sunday, was another drama. She and cheh cheh sharead a pack of noodles and she had a smaller portion. She took less than half and refuse to swallow, whereas cheh cheh finished hers and asked for more.. After a while, we got fed up and fed her 100 + instead. At least there's electrolytes and liquids to get her going.. We left for KL at night, without any milk for her.

This morning, I made a cup of Milo for her with a small scoop of soy. Sakit hati la.. I want her to be full and energetic for school. I've instructed the childminder not to give her milk in the afternoon, to see if her appetite improves for dinner.

Sigh, the throes of motherhood. Although her allergy problem may seem small to others, I take it differently, I see how she has shrunk from a thriving bouncing cheerful baby to one skinny minny refuse-to-eat-anything kid, my heart breaks.

God, please help me find a solution to her feeding problems and allergy !

Bathing on Her Own

Talk about independence. Now she wants to 'pom pom' on her own. She came back home, proudly telling me she showers on her own at Boon's. I checked with him, and yes, he's training the kids to bath on their own but they'll be given a thorough shower too.

At home, I had a little argument with her. She insisted on showering on her own but I wanna have a hands on cleaning her from head to toe. Nag, nag, nag... I let her have her way..

Proudly showing me she can wash her own hair

My dear Amber, please don't grow up too fast ok ? You're still my baby and Mama really enjoys brushing your teeth, showering you, blow dry your hair and dress you up.. :)

Not a Camera Trick !

If seeing is believing, then here's Amber, lugging a bag of 10kg rice!

No kidding ! I asked hubs to bag a sack of rice coz it's heavy and I'm lazy (whichever).
The little one said

Let me carry ! Gimme ! Gimme !

Hubs told her it's too heavy for her.. but she's persistent.. and just to keep her quiet in the supermarket, hubs passed the bag of rice to her.

She can carry wor ! LOL !!!!!!

Luckily I have my camera with me. She carried long enough to wait for me to fish out my camera and start clicking.

Don't play play with her !!

Bumbo Chairs

My friend Kimmy returned a Bumbo seat to me couple of days ago. It's been at my office for few days and everytime I walk in or out, I look at the Bumbo seat and thought of Amber and laughed.

Before she was delivered, we were determined to get the Bumbo seat. We thought it's so convenient and easy to use. Baby can be propped up anytime anywhere and we can even bring along when we dine out of home

And so, we got a Bumbo seat for her.

But we only used it a couple of times. Not more than 2-3 weeks.

I dug out her baby photos seated on the Bumbo from my external drive. Only a handful :

@ 3 months 3 wks

@ 4 months 1 wk

I think above photo was her last few occasions on the Bumbo coz her thighs were thick and got stuck. I remembered we were at Tampin then and when we carried her out, her legs were stuck and we carried Bumbo up as well. SIL, MIL and BIL saw and laughed so hard.. it was very funny and cute but too bad I didn't snap a picture then. LOL !!!

Those were her chubby schmubby days... now, she's skinny minny. :)

Speaking Mandarin

**updated - 10 Aug 09** I wonder what's wrong with blogspot. I was pretty sure I've updated this post but somehow it didn't appear..

Amber's childminder speaks Mandarin to her and some other kids at the center speaks Mandarin too. Lousy me, can hardly speak and don't try talking to me in Mandarin. I might misunderstand your words.

I did attend Mandarin class at KL Plaza prior to having Amber. It was for the good intention of preparing myself and my 'future kid' for Mandarin school. However after Basic Elementary Class, the hype fizzled out. We didn't have enough students to proceed to the next level. There's only 5 of us (me, my friend- an insurance agent, a French guy working at KLCC, a former hairstylist turned Daum crystal lover - now running a Daum crystal shop and another 1 or 2 more, I can't remember). The teacher would only run the class if ALL of us could commit one evening per week but none of us could. So my Chinese-English dictionary is now buried deep somewhere in the store room.

Then I watched Singaporean series. Their Mandarin is much easier to understand than Taiwanese or Chinese programmes. I stayed up every night to watch Holland Village. I like the storyline too :) but.. but.. their Mandarin is spoken with a Singaporean 'slang' complete with 'lah', 'mah', 'meh' , 'liao' with some Hokkien words added ('limpeh')

Then, Amber came along. I resorted to learning my dialect 'Hinghwa'. Hubs speak to her in our mother tongue and I'd better learn fast, otherwise I'll not know what father and daughter talks about, right ?

She's been with the current childminder for 7months and I'm happy with her development. She learns manners and Mandarin. I've learnt a few words from her :

-----
MIL assisting her to wash hands.
pu yau fei chau lah

Apatu fei chau ? Shame on me, I only learn that 'fei chau' is soap from my little girl.
-----
When she eats something yummy .
Mmmm.. hen hao wei
Mmmm.. hen mei wei

I know 'hao wei' but 'mei wei' is a new word to me.
----
Now, she tells me :
Mama, ni jian hua yue lah.. Amber huay jiang mar..
----

Gosh, looks like I need not learn Mandarin to teach her but she'll teach me instead. :)

Her Health & Hygiene

The paeds was checking Amber's records today.

Our last visit was 14 Aug 08. My girl has fared very well the past one year. We've kept her healthy and clean and the childminder did a good job too, if not for the HFMD. Month and month again, I kept reminding myself she has not fallen sick enough to visit the paeds and keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

When she was 15-28 months, she needed to see the paed nearly every month !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At 39 months :
Height : 103cm
Weight : 15.5kg
Then she asked doctor to check her ears.
Ears : Very clean. Doc commented on her extremely clean ear canals coz Mama is one crazy ear cleaning freak and Amber cooperates so willingly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Believe it or not, both of us enjoys ear cleaning time. She'll bring me a torchlight and lie on the bed, head on the side while I dig for gold. Sometimes fruitful, sometimes nothing. We bond together cleaning her ears. She'll go 'yay' when I call to clean her ears. Many a times, she'll giggle and laugh when the cottonbuds tickle her ear canal, then I'll smack her bum and shout 'Don't Move!!" , then we'll both laugh out loud.

Other than feed poor feeding and diet, she's cooperative in her own hygiene.

She goes to the toilet on her own.
If she pees, she wipes, flush and wash her hands
If she poos, she'll call for help, she'll ask me to peg my nose coz it's smelly ..

She willingly lets me brush her teeth.
I think she's too young to brush her own

She's learning to bath on her own for the fun of it.
Yesterday I screamed the house down. I turn my back to fetch her clothes, she used a sponge and Cosway cream cleanser to clean herself. I left it at the bathtub as a reminder to ask maid to scrub stains.

She's obsessed with washing her hands.
Not so good at times. Too much washing dries her hands especially behind the wrist and eczema starts flaring thereafter

37 months, still a long way to go before I can trust her to manage herself, but I'm not complaining, just loving every moment of it.

A 3 Year Old's Mealtime Battle

I really dread her meal times and I think she dreads it more than me. Meal times = Battle , see who wins, MamaPapa or Amber. Most of the time, we give in, she eats at least half, we let her off as I've run out of energy coaxing her to chew and swallow.

and .. she runs everywhere, around the house, to the kitchen and back. I've tried using the rotan but ended up, I also run everywhere chasing after her with a rotan.

Why, oh why ???? Both hubs and I look forward to mealtimes, but not Amber ! Why ? Is Mama's cooking that bad ? I've tried different kind of food ie porridge, macaroni, rice, soup ... she's lose interest after 2-3 spoonful. It's tiring to cook for a 3 year old who eats so little solid food !

Last Saturday, I attempted another approach. Sit in the highchair and nobody's helping her out till she finish her meal and she is to eat on her own.

First 5 minutes, she's all happy and gay, singing song, playing and hardly chewing her lunch :

Then, she gets bored and fidgety :

And starts itching here and there, finding a good reason to get out of high chair :

HELPPPP !!!!!!!

Finally Papa help feed her. Cry all you want. Must finish before she's let out. A real ugly scene, as if we're forcefeeding her :
I can hardly call this forcefeeding. She only had an 8oz milk since morning and lunch is a bowl of fish porridge with ikan bilis, tomatoes and cauliflower. Kids her age are crazy over McD and KFC but mine, will only lick tomato ketchup out of 1 single french fry. Pathetic isn't it ?
Surprisingly, once let out of her high chair, she'll make a dash for her vitagen and chocolates !!!!
Amber, oh Amber, Mama can't wait for you to sit down and finish a decent meal !

Sleepless Saturday

Actually Friday night. Here am I, sleepless, on a Friday night up till Saturday morning. Put her to bed at 10.30pm and the sequence goes like this :

10.30pm - wash face, hands and legs, apply lotion, change to pyjamas
10.45pm - lights off
10.50pm - Mama, I want water !
11.00pm - Mama, my eyes itchy. I want handkerchief !
11.10pm - Mama, I want shee shee !
11.15pm - Mama, my bum bum itchy !!!
11.20pm - Mama, I want water !
11.30pm - Asleep, finally !!!

From 10.45pm - 11.30pm, I fell asleep thrice but her royal highness woke me up and I had to attend to her needs. So, now I am bright as a lark, can't fall asleep again !

This routine sounds familiar right ?

I start digging up project that I need to do and top on my list is learning how to download my video camera. The last video I took of her was on Aug 08 , our Langkawi trip. I look back and realise she has grown so much, just a year ago, she was so so much still a baby.

I hope to get all my videos up fast. I need to catch more of her moments before she starts putting on make up, wear high heels and lipstick and don't wanna annoy Mama at bedtime anymore !!!!

Lil Miss Sweeper

Kids, they want to poke their nose in everthing we do. At home, we hide brooms and mops away from her, otherwise I'll have an extra 'maid' messing about.

Here, she's so busy 'helping' me. In fact, making a mess is more like it. More rubbish falls out of the dustpan than swept in :(
Will she help me with the housework when she grows up, when she's tall enough to handle the broom ? I wonder ?

My Little Helper

I designate a task for her. She controls the speed of my cake mixer. Easy and fool proof. Since she's so eager to help me out and can't wait to get her hands busy, I make her responsible for the mixer.

She knows the knobs well now, 1- 10 for mixing speed, higher number indicates faster speed.

I put butter and sugar in the mixing bowl and tell her 2 !

Then increase speed to 6 !

Reduce to 2 again! or whatever. . . .

She follows my instructions diligently and while I'm busy with other stuff (taking pictures :D ), she'll watch the mixing.

Oh ! She's more than happy to lend a helping hand :

Getting Her Busy

I made some dumplings last weekend, the recipe's a flop, so nothing to blog about except Amber.

She loves to help me in the kitchen, bringing her little Ikea stool tailing me from the wet to dry kitchen. Actually, to see her run around following me everywhere is very very cute but when I am busy or she makes everything topsy turvy, this crazy Mama will start screaming. My sis shared with me how she missed those moments with her kids when they were young and she
advised me no matter how annoying Amber can be in the kitchen, let her be, she'll grow and I'll miss those moments.

She loves to help me wash up.

Playing with flour is her second favourite

Getting all messed up.. looking like a 'lar char mau'

Honestly, I wouldn't eat anything she makes !

Amber - 3years + 1month

My little girl is now 37 months old. Apart from her increasing vocabulary, she can now :

- does not use potty anymore, she prefers adult toilet.

- able to go toilet on her own (take off own pants, adjust her tiny bum bum to sit to the throne, tear tissue paper, fold and wipe off)

- wears diapers only during nap and bedtime. Most of the time, diaper stays dry at afternoon naptime

- able to brush her own teeth (but I must do a major clean up every alternate day)

- finally learning how to write, guided by dotted lines (I got her a Spiderman a-b-c book to inspire her)

-chewing more solid food (she is able to finish off one chicken drumstick in a go)

-able to walk upstairs and down unguided

slowly and surely, she will learn to write a-b-c before she goes to kindie next year.

Way to go girl !

My Yoga Baby

We've got a new DVD in our room. I used the Sen Heng voucher, minus this and that, cost us RM130 for what was orginally RM319. Good deal! That means I have no more excuses not to practise some yoga in the evening.

We tested the DVD yesterday with a yoga cd and Amber was watching the cd and then she started monkeying around with some yoga poses.

I am surprised, some poses looks quite real, like the sun salutation and down dog.

My little girl, should I send you for kids yoga ?

Macaroni and Cheese

Getting Amber to eat is a tough task. She hardly tells me she's hungry or wants food, other than chocolates and yakult. Feeding her is a chore. I've stopped making porridge for her, I think , in fact, I am also put off by the few selection of porridge she's been having for the past 2 years.

She's lost so much baby fat. Her latest measurements at the paeds is :
weight - normal
height - above average

for her age.

That means she's underweight for her height. Her pants, shirts and skirts gets shorter and shorter but not any tighter. I always call her 'sau mang kai' (skinny little chicken)
I try all kinds of method to get her interested in her food, making her food more interesting, cooking her a variation and even resorted to can food.

Below is the Campbell's cheese and herb sauce which came free with the Prego pasta sauce.

I made macaroni, boiled till real soft and cut some flower shaped cheddar and she walloped everything. That made my day !

I believe many moms also go through a feeding problem phase with their kids and I hope Amber goes through this phase soon. I really miss her chubby cheeks and fat thighs !!!

Prices Gone Up The Moon

A bulk of Amber's expenses goes to her infant formulas. From the day she was born, I had wanted to give her the best formula, apart from my miserable-considered-failed breastfeeding attempt of 6 weeks. I did a checking then on the best formula in the market then Dr Jeremy told me Aiya, they are all the same, just packaging lah.. take the cheapest, you know how much money you can save or not ?

So, I gave her Snow, formula from Australia/New Zealand. Then came the big eczema flare up. I changed to hypoallergenic milk, very expensive and yet I didn't see much improvement. Isomil was next, her eczema improved slightly but I was told children on soy milk tend to lose baby fats faster and may not want to drink milk for long, because of the raw soy taste, they might just drop milk off their choice of drinks. Again I was worried and gave her Pediasure.
All these infant formulas costs a bomb. The prices seems to be going up and up and up!

While shopping one day, I came across these brands that I GREW UP DRINKING !! Mom used to buy the big 2/2.5kg tins :

There's milk powder available for 1+ and 3+. I prefer the original flavour. The moment Amber hits 3, I changed her 'formula' to 'milk powder' and it cost only a fraction (one third actually !!!) of the formulas. It has the necessary DHA,AHA, ARA,SA and many many more nutrients.

I hope I need not pay for expensive formulas anymore.

She's 3 now, I think cutting her expenses for diapers and formulas will save us some money for her kindie and music classes.

She Like Dancing

She just loves dancing, she really does, and to any kind of music. At shopping centers when there's loud music blasting, you can't stop her from shaking her bum-bum.. and she doesn't care when we shout :

Amber !!! Let's go.. we are leaving ! Amber ! YeYe MaMa waiting.. Amber faster !!

until we just walk away.... then from a distance, she'll come running.

Sometimes it's kinda embarassing when the shoppers stop to see her dancing in public.

I caught a video of her in the act the other day... my little girl will dance anywhere, at home, in the car, shopping center, on stage, just anywhere, as long as there's MUSIC and any kind of music will make her shake her bum bum...

Should I send her for dancing class ? Hubs said forget about ballet, she doesn't have the grace for it.. muahahahaha !
