You know how 4 year olds are when they discover meaning of 'secret' ? A hush-hush something that cannot be shared but must be able to entice the other party ??
And that makes me a very annoyed mom. My 4 year old, is having lots of secrets..
..
..
..
..
..
..
and not with me but with his Papa.
Every now and then.. I'll hear her talking.. "Papa, come, "SECRET".. cannot tell Mama".
or..
Mama, secret ! you cannot see, close your eyes !
Wuah.. her secret and I must make an effort to hide myself away from it. ;(
Sooo annoying.. I know she deliberately does it to annoy me. I admit, I've not been spending much 1 to 1 time with her. My precious evenings are spent getting the house in order, if I'm lucky, I get to squeeze in Desparate Housewives on Tuesday. My evenings also includes serving her royal highness freshly squeezed juice, peeled and de-seeded grapes (and sometimes poked with dainty bento food picks too). All these butler-maid works and all I get is 'secret show' between both of them, Mama not included !
I get annoyed.. then mad.. a 4 year old little fart, playing politics at home ???
I don't get even.
I shout :
PAPA !!! don't tell Amber our "SECRET" ok ????
Then.. I see the doe eyed girl.. jumping of her chair...
he he..
if you can't win, get EVEN !

Frustration
We bought a new sofa set from ROZEL (yes, hear me right, the big ROZEL). A 3+2+1 full leather sofa. After taking delivery for few weeks and enjoying it, we realized the rubber based attached to each leg had cracked. I think it was delivered cracked, not my weight or hubs and we certainly do go bouncing from sofa to sofa like monkeys.
Bad enough ? Not yet.. hubs favourite seat is the middle of the 3 seater, that's where he gets the best audio sound from our AV. He realised the middle seat is softer than the rest.
So we made a complain to Rozel. Someone came to change the base on 24 Dec 08 and hubs made a note on their service order form abt the sagging seat. He requested a copy of it by fax. Otherwise how else can we prove our complain, hai mai ??
Weeks passed, then Chinese New Year came and went, still no call from them. Last month, I gave them a call and they sent someone to change the few rubber based left. Then the service guy placed his butt on the middle seat and agreed with us it's softer than the rest. "Have to send to factory" he said..
ok.. ok.. no sofa for a week.... but wait a minute, no acknowledgement of sofa being taken ? Think I am so 'ngong koi' to let someone drag a fully paid sofa out of my house ?
I asked him to come back again with a service order form,
Then I received a call from Rozel, they said 'Errr... you have to pay RM160 for service and transportation!!!'
I flipped, I really flipped,, backwards and back ! Hubs was fuming !!
Why would we have to pay for a factory fault ? If they want prove, I have cctv recordings of my living room for weeks, nobody sits on the sofa except us, at night for an hour or 2 and not even every night !!
Hubs threw a good one at them, asked to speak to higher authorities.
Few days later, another unknown number from Rozel called and insist on the RM160 !!
I asked for a copy of the earlier service order dated 24 Dec 08 so I have proof to go Malay Mail Hotline. Asked many many times, I still don't get it.
Sounds fishy, looks like someone is covering their arse for bad customer service.
The case is not settled yet.
Just a warning, if you buy ROZEL, be careful. Make sure you get a service order form. Their customer service sucks !!! I'd say cheaper brands like Cavenzi gives me better service.
AAARRRGHHHH ! Sien sei, sien sei !

Amber and her kakak
Nowadays Amber knows how to 'complain' and I am proud of her. I'll know if she's being bullied by kakak.
Makes me wonder why they'd apply to be a maid if they hated the job so much. Mine hates taking care of children and that's my biggest issue with her. I once asked her, if you don't like to take care of children, what do you like to do ?
She said : I like to cook but I don't know how to cook and I like to take care of dogs ! Sei mou ?
If I leave Amber with her while I take a shower, I'll have Amber screaming for me in less than 5 minutes. I envy moms whose maids are a real helping hand.
Last weekend Amber complained to mil and her maid while I went for Ching Ming prayers with hubs :
Kakak say I am lazy ! Kakak say I lazy wor ??
MIL investigated the cause and it was because Amber didn't want to sit down and play jigsaw puzzle with her. My maid must have got irritated with Amber running around, not wanting to sit still and called her 'lazy' !
The moment I came home and Amber ran to me, she quickly disappears to the kitchen to help our aunty to cook lunch... and that's not her job. She'd rather peel potatoes than look after Amber. So sad, isn't it ? I don't think Amber is that difficult a child to look after but my maid can't wait to handsoff her everytime. That's why I'll never leave her alone at home with the maid, not even for 5 minutes.
MIL was also concerned with the maid and made sure she 'pass' Amber to me before she left home. We can't risk her alone with the maid, not even for a while, for she might 'handsoff' her anytime and no one keeping an eye on her.
Since the day she arrived, she's been annoying Amber till no end.
When Amber does a 'big poo poo' , she'll say things like 'your nggg nggg.. eee yer.. so smelly .. sooooo smelly er...' My god! the poor little girl was already constipating to tears and the maid walks around singing the song in a jest to annoy her. Wouldn't anyone be mad ?
She likes to make 'monkey faces' at Amber. From the day she arrives till now, she always scare Amber with a funny expression and screams EEEE ! EEEE ! I was at my wits trying to explain to her on making herself chummy with Amber, she should be more lively and cheerful and avoid all funny expression to annoy a child. She don't understand ! and so I said : How about if your father did that to you ? EEEE ! EEEE ! bleak (imitate her monkey face expression) ! YOU LIKE OR NOT ???
When I bought sticker books for Amber, she'll tear and sticks them all up, annoying the poor little girl again. I have to warn her those books are for my daughter, not you!
When I 'spy' through her stuff, I found my daughters stickers on her diary. Sei mou ? Maybe I should get her some sticker books.
Once they were fighting and Amber pulled her hair, she pulled Amber's hand away in return and twisted her wrist, the poor girl came crying and said:
kakak so naughty, make my hand pain !
I reprimanded my little girl for pulling kakak's hair but in my heart, I felt there is no need to pull her hand so hard.
Really pengsan, both of them are always like cats and dogs fighting. I hope I get a better maid next time around.

Apa pun tak jadi

Our way in to Thai fish farm - Jalan Hulu Langat. No nice food to show, just traffic, traffic and more traffic.
Over the weekend, many of our plans were foiled. Sunday evening, we wanted to go to a fish/vege farm at Hulu Langat, about 15 mins drive from my father's house. I've heard about this place from a friend and googled for directions. It's a minute away from the Ampang Lookout Point at Jalan Hulu Langat-Ampang. Our Garmin nuvi did not register this address but the road was labeled as B62.
I called on my way there to make a booking only to be greeted by : come lah come lah, no need to book lah. Off we went on a very very hot early Sunday evening. Was told to get there early as there's no streelights on the way in. The place is quite easy to locate but hard to get IN. Immediate exit after the Lookout point and it's another 5 minutes drive on a rocky terrain but surprise surprise, while navigating ourselves in, many cars were coming out, a kind man on the way out told us "PAU PANG ! PAU PANG !" (full house). So boh kam muan, we still made our way in, and finally reached the place. It's actually a fish farm own by locals but ran by Thais.
The place was packed! I never thought such out of nowhere place would be packed.
No place to park and worst, you could be stuck in a gridlock of parked car, incoming and outgoing cars all stuck on a narrow lane of rocky terrain. No doubt the place is very nice and inviting, I'll be smarter the next time around and avoid it on weekend evenings.
Really boh kam muan, I shall be back on another day for lunch or perhaps a weekend lunch.
On Sunday morning, we planned to bring Amber to Bird Park at Lake Gardens. Again, tak jadi, sky was dark and we didn't want to risk paying for admittance fee and getting caught in the rain.
Amber kept grumbling:
ai kee Bird Park ah... ai kee Bird Park.. ai kua bird ah.. (wanna go Bird Park, wanna see bird)
Luckily we suggested Ikea and she changed her mind, sing a different song.
ai kee Ikea ah...
Lucky she didn't ngam ngam cham cham Bird Park anymore ... lol...
So, now I have 2 items on my to-do list. Bird Park and Thai Fish Farm ..
